Lent, a time to let go
of giving up of the chatter
the things that divide us from God
hope everlasting,
in drawing closer to him
a time of setting time apart
of picking up joy, the Word
in spending time with our neighbors
sharing the love of God
holy Lent, wash over me
guide me nearer to you
holy God watch over me
I so want to walk with you
