waiting to wipe away every tear

Can you feel Christ beside you
can you sense the Spirit within
do you hear God crying
when we are crying still, alone, in this world
when we have not called out to him
when we have not sought him
cursing his name, or ignoring
seeking our own answers, our own path
going out own way, alone
when he would run, right to our side
if we would muse, whisper, moan his name
maybe with no words, just crying out
waiting to wipe away every tear
a balm for every hurt
never to leave us alone
to walk with us, his arms open
the Father down the road
running out to meet us
our brother smiling as we enter in
greeting us so warmly
