Pulling out Kudzu – v2

worse than dandelions

more tenacious

than poison ivy

an invasive species

unwanted, connected

woven into the vine

the soil, the ground

tares with the wheat

but no time to wait for harvest

for the difference more clear

the kudzu spreading

intertwined within

needing to be pulled out

no matter the pain

nothing remaining

the roots, the vines

the invasive species

entwined within

pulling out the kudzu

the briers, the dead stuff

the roots deep remaining

pulling them out

ignoring the thorns,

what must be done
