Painting in the Rain – v4

A little rain wasn’t going to stop us;
No, we were there to scrape,
to prime the house, to work,
to help out, make progress
to help a neighbor in need.

Laughing as the rain ran off the roof
and down my back,
holding the ladder, an anchor,
for the scraping above me
Noticing that even the spiders
found places out of the storm

But we were undaunted, for a time,
and kept painting in the rain
undaunted by the sprinkles
until the showers became a torrent
rain running off the walls.
