A little rain wasn’t going
to stop us;
No, we were there to scrape,
dodging the individual drops
to prime the house
to help out, make progress
worthy of our week.
Laughing as the rain ran off
the roof
and down my back,
holding the ladder, an
anchor,
for the scraping above me
Noticing that even the
spiders
found places out of the
storm
But we were undaunted, for a
time,
the droplets merely spatters
and kept painting in the
rain
until the showers became
ever more serious
a torrent of a storm
