Something I don’t
contemplate
not wanting to face that
mirror
to answer honestly
the words she asked us
feeling I am unfinished clay
a vessel still within Your
hand
turning yet on Your wheel
Am I good, am I truly
good or very good
in the eyes of God
as He spoke of in Creation
when he waved his hand
when the breath was over the
chaos
Christ over all
Knowing what He said in
creation
the birthing of mankind
very good in His eyes
the work of His hands
Yet what of me
broken and chipped
failing Him in my walk
Am I good, very good
in the eyes of God
do I measure up
to Christ’s sacrifice
can I be what He wanted
when He made me in my inmost
parts
when I am still but clay
