our lives constricted
even as we claim freedom
root bound in an old pot
no oxygen, nutrition
needing new soil
a bigger pot
to bloom for the Lord
given a new vessel
a new life, a new body
a fresh start, reborn
Christ alive within us
able not to grow, to spread
new work to be done
to bloom for God’s kingdom
