hope given power

too many prayers to number

desires, pain spoken

guilt, doubt weighing upon them

in the choices that were being made

life in stasis, frozen

always holding their breath

hope given power

words of the Spirit

flowing from her

through him

up to the ceiling, filling

the power of God’s love

hope given power to change him

washing him with Christ’s blood
