the synagogue leader
ignoring risk, consequence,
for his daughter
risking his reputation
faith more than fear
kneeling before Jesus
calling him to heal her
to come to his daughter
dying in her bed
risking his reputation
his position, his standing
but kneeling before Jesus
to heal his daughter’s illness
courageous submission
love over position
faith more than fear
coming to Jesus, the Christ,
his plea did He hear
as he was kneeling before Jesus
