I see the words on the
page
trying to understand
history
the stories of the bible
patriarchs of faith
believing they were
chosen
that God selected them
each of them appointed
in their time and place
a word about Abram
the man who was Abraham
the father of our faith
trusted by God
the truth of his life
failing to believe
stumbling mightily
yet God had a purpose
a plan in creation
the father of many
nations
this patriarch of faith
God has faith in me
called for a purpose
entrusting part of His
plan
into my trembling hands
God has faith in me
even when I have fallen
when I have strayed from
the path
when I have spit in
Christ’s face
God has faith in me
as he did in Abraham
giving me a call, a
purpose
to work out His plan
