The debt He didn’t owe

choosing the cross
the path God had written
dying for the lost
that we may live again;
descended from glory
taking on the yoke
the mantle of the servant
become the sacrifice
putting on our sin
as a garment, heavy
the debt He didn’t owe
going to the cross
become the Lamb
the offering, perfect,
dying that we might live
if we will follow
choosing servanthood
humbly going, doing
the Master’s will
the work of salvation
