Fire in that Water – v2

The Pentecost flames, in the water of baptism,
the living flames in the waters, burning, shining
the Spirit stirring the waters, charged, elemental
transforming waters of the Spirit, descending, landing
filling us, our own lives, our spirits, growing, strengthened
bodily moving us from our fear, from our comfort
emboldened, empowered, to speak with power
to share the message, in words we do not know,
in languages, in words, right for others, not ourselves
to walk humbly, differently, filled with that redeeming Spirit
to be Christ in this troubled land, this world of hurt
in this darkness, this brokenness, to bear God’s light
Christ’s message of salvation, of resurrection,
of Easter, of Ascension, of Pentecost, ever
feeling the fire in that water, flowing through us
changing us forever, out of the boat,
out onto the waters with Christ
walking on the water, into the wilderness
the uncharted places in this world
with boldness of the Spirit
spreading God’s love
everywhere
