suffocation
unable to breathe
a weight upon me
the name of grief
shame for what I did
for who I hurt
forever with me
while I walk this earth
a weight on my chest
heavy, like chains
marking me like a tattoo
only by God’s grace
freed from these chains
not by what I have done
God sees me as Jesus
healed of my brokenness
washed of my stain
