a feeling in our throats
something we can relate to
dry and parched
longing for something to
drink
so with our lives
our spirits within us
times of dryness
of not feeling the presence
of God
Jesus is the living water
giving food for our spirits
drinking all that we desire
that we may be full
never to thirst again
to hunger in this path
except to be drawn closer
to the source of all life
