Oh how I wish I could have
been there
to change time to that
moment
to have been the next
disciple
standing behind Jesus
In the water with them
the Christ and the Baptizer
to take ourselves there
going to the very spot
where Jesus stood
to stand in the river
by where John stood
To be one of his disciples
one of the people of
Jerusalem
of that place, one of the
people
soon to follow Christ
falling into the Jordan
In that moment seeing
our Savior at that instant that
moment
as He fell beneath the
waters
as He rose from the depths
when the dove descended
Hearing God speaking of His
love
and seeing the Holy Spirit
falling down upon Him
upon the living Christ
To stand in the river
ready to be baptized
with Jesus, with John
with the first disciples
in the muddy Jordan
at the moment of His
starting
His ministry to begin
under the watchful eye of
the Father
