remembering the Messiah
entering Jerusalem
to shouts of “Hosanna!”

become the ashes
marking the journey
of forty days.
the palms of our hands
in prayer, in worship
remembering the journey
of Christ’s love.
the palms of our hands
lifted for service
continuing Christ’s work
to the end of the age.
