Seeds of Easter, planted
joy dormant, waiting
in winter, the darkness
in the season, this journey
waiting to burst forth
a harvest surely to come
So long before, in the time
of waiting
in the words of the psalmist
the promise He will return
like water in the desert
to bring forth the seeds
dormant
springing to abundant life
In the ashes, the soil, the
ground
these seeds of Easter
planted
in the dormancy of this
season, waiting,
like the bulbs of each
spring, quiet,
waiting for the coming light
of morning
to spring forth into new
life.
