like scorched seeds – v3

like scorched seeds
planted on pavement
burned in the hot sun

like phosphorus flares
burning white hot
for only a time
God’s fire within

we have lost our joy
our passion for Jesus
the light we once carried

we are not like we once were
as when we first believed
ablaze with the Spirit
God’s message of love
