a vessel of their flame – v6

Their bodies are a vessel
a vessel of their flame
within their spirit
their lives in their hands;
Precious, each one
each one a bottle
as if made of blown glass
spinning, expanding
pulled from the fire

All of them alive
burning brightly burning
light deep within them;
Spirits young, open, ready
to be fed, to be nurtured
the fire within them
like lightning in a bottle,
a breath, a spark
ready to ignite, to burn

The spark of spirits,
their living essence,
glowing bright within them;
Offered, shared, given to us
a sacred trust, solemn,
giving to us to cherish
in this part of their journey,
in our time, this place
these moments of their lives
