Did you see it, feel it;
did you stop and notice
to soak it in, to taste it?
I paused, scanning
The horizon,
the foreground
light all around me
In wonder, in awe
I was so grateful, I paused
stopped my rushing, to enjoy
The sunrise, the break of
day
frozen and melting
shadows and weak-February
sun
falling on new snow
Canary and dusty/powder blue
sculpted on the substantial
clouds
(not like summer gossamer)
and fused with the gray
below,
the edge of land
waking this Wednesday
A wonder, a gift
if you, like me, paused
long enough
to drink it all in
