Apricot and Periwinkle – v3

Apricot and periwinkle
Robin’s egg and salmon skin.
Moments, seconds, of
Yesterday’s sunset
Fading, dying, yet
Frozen in my mind
Captured forever
To recall years later.

No Nikon or Kodak,
No disposable or instamatic.
Images captured on
Rods and cones this time,
Not on emulsion.
Fine grained
And enduring.
Synapses growing.

Soft shadows
And wispy clouds.
Bands of color and mood
Share the sky
The still air
With small birds
And a damselfly,
Before the dark.

Stars create a canopy
above the dark landscape
After the light fails
before me over the water.
The sunset now
A part of my
Memory. my experience
To cherish forever.
