Willing and Obedient – v4

No burnt offerings
of the fatted calf, no blood
poured out on the horned altar;
God wants more from us
to offer all we are, our whole being,
our lives instead on the altar.

That we would be,
each and every one of us,
willing and obedient; Oh, that we would be
servants of the living God,
messengers of His love.

We are washed clean by Christ’s blood
the sins we could not repay;
They are wiped from the record of our lives,
freeing us from our chains
to go another way.

We are called to seek justice
to help those in need;
We are to lift up all who are oppressed
to be ambassadors of God
in every word and each action

The proof is no in burnt offerings
things we lay on the altar,
but in the changing of our hearts;
Submitting to God’s holy plan
joyfully doing our part
