trying to leave the darkness

wandering in darkness
a blind man crashing into furniture
held within walls, chains,
of unspoken guilt and shame…
not believing the promise of scripture
trying to heal on my own…
 
ancient secrets, hidden shame,
of what was done against me
believing the lie of Satan
that I was guilty, alone…
that God would not protect me,
trying to heal on my own…
 
how I long to walk in the light
to feel Your arm around me,
but I listened to Satan’s whisper,
a lie fifty-two years ago…
please come to me Spirit,
I cannot heal on my own…
