I was scared when you touched me,
unwanted, without permission,
A stranger on the path, blocking my way
I was ashamed, shattered, undone,
In that awful moment, broken,
When my body reacted,
a lightning bolt, a shiver,
blood rising within me,
a sensation unwanted,
My innocence lost, forever,
in that littered field that day…
 
My body reacted, without me,
An involuntary movement,
a fire within me, unwelcome,
an unwanted touch, dirty,
changing the course of my life
a secret unspoken, shameful,
never reconciled fully,
protection, the love of God
a lie of guilt, of wanting,
carried within me too long,
for five awful decades…
