lost, damaged, stolen

a few minutes of touching
my body reacting
horror and shame
a knife stabbed through me,
never fully healed…
 
years of silence
my sense of shame unspoken
the hurt he caused
a wound without scar tissue
open and bleeding still…
 
so much lost, damaged, stolen,
in those brief few minutes,
my innocence, my wonder,
my sense of sexuality,
my ability to be honest, open…
 
years of silence
letting the hurt change me,
acting out in anger
later, accepting,
taking what wasn’t mine…
