He embodied his homeland,
all of Ukraine, Ukraina,
the aspirations of his people…
He was the exemplar, the conscience,
the heart of his native land…
unchained from oppression,
shaking off shackles of the Tsar…
Every word he ever wrote,
was essentially Ukraine…
who wrote, who spoke like him,
who breathed the spirit of Ukraine…
The hopes of his people,
embodied his every word…
