plumb his words,
his depths of emotion,
the well of his pain, his torment,
separated from his home, his people,
his anger at injustice, rage, shouting,
his love for his people, his family,
serfs, the imprisoned, all downtrodden…
plumb his words,
his kinship, his fidelity,
cleaving forever, always, always,
to the land of his birth, this soil,
even when he was set apart, in prison,
he always knew where he came from,
his heart was forever Ukraine…
