Hear, O my Ukraina,
these ancient words…
Listen to your prophet,
to his great warning…
 
You will be brought low,
for your rebellion, your treason,
turning from your homeland,
to your awful master…
 
He will cut you down,
as a warning to His people…
In fetters you will toil for them,
and in chains you will perish…
 
Only then will God redeem,
death of the false Tsar professing…
Only then will God redeem,
Ukraina to His bosom…
