There is a cancer within the body, never dormant,
a tumor growing, spreading, and metastasized,
in the nations, humanity…
The legitimacy of the world order, the UN,
The illusion of peace, the rule of law is a joke…
 
On a solemn day of remembrance, D-Day,
As the heroes are honored, their names are spoken,
We recommit to this prayer, “Never Again!” …
We ask for forgiveness from the dead, the dying,
the tortured, the ones we have left behind…
 
Now, in the heart of Europe, again, yet again,
We hear the same cries rise from the dying,
for the West to remember this prayer,
failing in its sacred promise, “Never Again!”
The terror has risen again…
 
Voronezh, a name that will be like Auschwitz,
every killing, every act of torture,
for horrors that are happening in that place…
Humanity is failing in its sacred promise
When we promised the dead, “Never Again!” …
 
Yes, “Never Again!”, we proclaim before others,
the rise of the rule of law, of a rule-based order,
But do we mean these words? Our inaction speaks louder,
because this cruelty, this malice, this terror,
is happening now, as it will surely happen again…
