Peter, sinking, captured by trouble,
his doubt pulling him under
falling below the waters,
the waves, sinking, darkness
Lifted up, rising, by the outstretched hand
the hand of our Savior
ready for him, immediately
reaching for Peter, for each of us
when our faith trembles
when the wind catches our attention
and we too sink
Our loving God is there,
hands ready to save us
