The shadow of death
stalking each of us
our sin, a judgment
since the fall of man
something deep within
the dark side of our free will
Able to choose, to a point
to turn toward the light
but our nature, deep within
a shadow of death in this life
Only the Christ,
the unblemished lamb
our rock and our redeemer
changing the path of our life
paying the debt we owe
going to Calvary
in the place of man
an offering to take sin away
No longer in the shadow
the sentence of death
paid by the priest once and for all
sacrificing himself
for you and for me
his grace setting us free
