Simon’s words
so like our own
when we come before the Christ
Aware of our sin
his holiness
bowing, we fear his face
So conscious of how far below
we stand than this son of man
Trying to send him away
we don’t deserve his grace
But Christ speaks to us
just as to them
Come, follow me
Nothing to fear
in the presence of God
for this he had come to earth
To set the captives free
all of us from sin
to reconcile us to God
Going before us,
our savior, our guide
walking this way, by our side
