Those who would become disciples
tired, dirty, after a night, fruitless toil
meeting Jesus on the shore
a crowd close behind him came
to hear a message of hope, of love
The workers, fishermen
going onto the waters with him
at his feet while he preached
hearing the message straight from the Lord
going with him when he called
Their lives, all of history changed
when he called them by name
going with the master
into the land, away from the shore
fishing for men instead
