Christ, the lamb
a sacrifice without defect
an unblemished perfect offering
crying in prayer in the Garden alone
wishing that this cup would pass him by
Turning himself over
the living God on earth
as Abraham did Isaac
giving the son
as an offering to God
a sweet fragrance on the fire
Taking on the judgment of our sin
our hands upon his head
God transferring the sins of man
onto his unblemished head
Going as a servant
thy will be done
even though he wished to live
taking on our sin
dying on the cross
that we may truly live

Matthew 26:39
“And he went a little further, and fell on his face,
and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible,
let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will,
but as thou wilt”. (KJV)
