In Sheer Humbleness

How it had to be
more true than we would admit

In the telling of the story
at the beginning,
not at the end, coming
in complete humbleness

Not a mistake, in the manger
no room in the inn
to fulfill the prophecy
the will of our loving God

The birth, a moment of serendipity
God’s plan revealed
in the sheer humbleness
our Lord come into the world
