At That Time

While John was at the River
in his role, preparing
the way for our Savior
at that time coming to the water

God waiting for this moment
when Christ was thirty
mature, for this purpose
reading to take on the mantle

God now speaking
as Christ rose from the water
announcing Christ is His Son
the Holy One of Heaven

Not until this moment
Christ came to the fore
Submitting to God’s calling
going out to serve
