Praise in Our Ashes

Joy in our clay
praise in our ashes
reminded of our failings
and of your perfection

Happy in repentance
in the arms of your grace
feeling love within us
in the light of your face

Washing over us
cascades of redemption
the living waters of creation
now rivers of salvation

God giving us anew
in this season of reflection
an opportunity for connection
communion with our Lord

Walking more closely
cleaving to our Savior
guided by the Spirit
out into the world

Sharing the message
the light of Brother
yoked with our Master
doing his holy work
