Deeply Planted

Into our good soil
repenting, ready
to soak up your word
ready for you
to change our lives
taking over our bodies
our paths
submissive to you
ever always.

August 6, 2011
on seeing the title of the poem,
“In the Good Soil”, as I prepared to post it
to the www.christianpoetry.org

In the Good Soil

The seeds growing, alive, vital
bearing fruit, beyond our comprehension
touching lives in ways we do not know

In the good soil, hearts open
the roots deep, strong
finding the word

Hope in the scripture
in the community of saints
all of us together
children of God
