Unable to stand before God

If this is about me
if I am brutally honest
if I read these words
I could not stand
I would be a cinder
my life but dust

Standing before the sovereign God
speaking these words of the psalmist
claiming power when I am clay
unable to face God’s answer
his judgment on that day
knowing only that I am broken
and I need his grace
