Loving the soil

Loving the soil
chaos of each person
each heart of clay
each body of dust

Loving the seed
Spirit to be placed with us
waiting for the right moment
for the seed to find light

God tending the soil
our bodies, our spirits
to make fertile ground
to give us new life

Just at the right moment
the seed to be planted
our soil embracing
the gift of God’s love

God ever patient
tending the soil
making us ready
for the harvest in store.
