tending the soil
the dust of our spirits
watering the ground
the stuff of our clay
with the patience of God
tending the soil
waiting for the moment
to plant the seed
the seed needing
the love of the soil
to embrace it, to nurture
that the shoot may grow
waiting, patient
God of eternity
close with us
waiting for the right time
to share God’s message
God’s love for us
loving the soil
each trembling heart
