Christ’s command
not that we love one another
Not this alone, more,
though it would be
hard enough itself
The new command of our Savior
on the night before his
sacrifice
just as He is choosing
to become our Lamb
offered on the altar of the
cross
To love one another
as He first loved us
giving himself over
pouring out His life’s blood
paying the ultimate cost
Giving His own life
choosing to be the servant
a sacrifice of love
reconciling the whole world
so that we may see God
