too long a companion
as a foreign war
correspondent
known by the trench coat
out in the field, the
nations
too long a garment of
despair
heavy on his shoulders
worn in every season
wearing his body down
cast off in that moment
the Spirit speaking in power
through her to him
in love, in prophecy
let go of the demons
the companions of the past
given them over to Him
walk in God’s light
really releasing the demons
not picking them back up
leaving them to God
trusting in his provision
God’s purpose spoken
words of commission
not needing that garment,
heavy
freed to do the work
