under the grime, the patina

hidden in the dust
under the grime, the patina
like brass being cleaned
or pottery after the kiln
the art emerging
the story unfolding
the inner beauty shining through
the harvest worth the toil
the shine, the elbow grease
all of it worth it
when these flower
bloom in time
take time to nurture
to nourish the harvest within

their stories unfolding

an image emerging

a flower opening

an onion peeling
