In stubbornness, in pride
I leave, I run away
I go my own way, defiant
thinking I am all that
denying the need for the
cross
denying the need for God
In stubbornness,
self-centeredness
as if my own person,
creation
able to do it myself
I believe the lie of the
self-made man
not needing the Creator, the
Savior
lost in the myth, the
self-delusion
In stubbornness, in
blindness
wandering in the filth
the pigs eating fully
but I am lost, hungry
needing the cross
needing Jesus
needing God’s love
