My body shivered, trembled
before the words
an ache, a doubt, wondering
how I would have responded
if you had called me, a
fisherman by the sea
to come, to come, follow me
Would I have left all, my
life, my family, to follow you
a tall order, uncomfortable,
standing beside my wife
a shiver in singing these
words again
my faith a challenge, to
submit to your will alone
so many other demands,
desires, commitments
on each of our lives, on our
days
a trembling, before our God
unsure how I would have
reacted
if Jesus had called my name
as he called the first
twelve
would I have gone when he
called
to come, to come, follow me
