our shackles, our chains
like those of Marley
around our lives, our souls
chains of death around us
we are set free, released
from the chains of death
the fate, the judgment
that encircles the world
set free by the cross of
Christ
by his resurrection
to see with new eyes
walking in God’s way
walking with others,
some society would reject,
holy is the journey
away from the world
