God sets out a welcome, an
invitation
a gift ever ready, wrapped,
waiting for us to open,
given
a bountiful front porch
before us
expansive and always present
a front porch, maybe open
with a homemade pie cooling
Or maybe a bouquet, prepared
fresh cut flowers arranged
a mat before the unlocked door
welcoming us in, open to our
touch
His prevenient grace, ready
when we are
the grace a cloud around us,
as open arms
By these we know the love of
the owner
the open arms of the Father,
the Master
open to every Prodigal Son,
Prodigal Daughter,
ignoring, forgiving our sins,
our past
welcoming us through the
door.
