Heard from a distance
the moment of Pentecost
the fire descended
upon the gathered disciples;
but not a babble,
clarity, one message,
speaking each in other
tongues
those they had never known
to cast the net, to fish for
men,
reaching all, the pilgrims
of the world
all who had come to
Jerusalem
Sheep alone, they had been,
followers of the King
now a fire, a message
empowered to witness
to His amazing love
so all may hear Him
calling to each one of us
in their native tongue
