As if they needed
proof, confirmation
that the words of
the apostle were true
God placed an
exclamation point
of the promise,
the words of saving, equality
Like the first,
they received the same tongues of fire
the flames of
Pentecost, descending on Cornelius
on his family, his
whole house, assurance
all would be
saved, all given the Spirit’s song
All, no matter
race, or gender, no barriers
a personal
Pentecost available to all
God’s Spirit
descends on each one
creating the world
anew
